Naming Our Overland Explorer Vehicle: Bantha

Naming Our Overland Explorer Vehicle

When it came time to name our Overland Explorer Vehicle, we wanted something that captured both its character and purpose. That’s how we landed on BanthaTheTruck - inspired by the great beasts of burden from Star Wars.

bantha-2In the films, Banthas are strong yet gentle creatures, able to survive in the harshest deserts and across a wide range of terrain. They’re steady, intelligent, and unshakably calm - qualities we immediately saw reflected in our OEV.

Much like its namesake, our BanthaTheTruck doesn’t rush or roar; it just keeps moving forward, sure-footed and dependable, no matter what the road (or lack thereof) throws at it.

We loved that Banthas are peaceful by nature, defending themselves only when necessary. They adapt, they endure, and they carry on without complaint. That quiet resilience is exactly what we wanted our travels to feel like - strong, steady, and in harmony with the landscapes we explore.

So “BanthaTheTruck” felt like more than just a name - it became a symbol of how we want to travel: patiently, thoughtfully, and always ready for whatever’s over the next horizon.

Every time we load up and pull away from home, the name on our rig is a quiet reminder of why we set out in the first place: to move slowly, see more, and respect the places we pass through.

With BanthaTheTruck as our traveling companion, we’re not just driving to new destinations—we’re wandering a little farther, staying out a little longer, and writing the kind of stories you can only collect mile by mile.
